Almost as old as the creation of guns is the developement of new ways to carry them. Most people that want to conceal firearms for personal protection need a concealed holster that is virtually indetectable. Luckily for you there are several different options when it comes to protecting yourself with a concealed firearm. Here are some different kinds of concealed holsters that are available today…

There is the traditional hip holster that can be worn with a longer shirt or coat which provide for easy access and quick drawing abilites. The only bad thing about this concealed holster is that you are very limited on what you can wear. This can also weight down your belt if not sinched snug can be catchy.

There is the inside the waist band holster which is just what is sounds like. This holster gives a wider range of clothing options is wearing longer clothing is not an option. The drawback are that they can be uncomfortable for obious reasons.

A personal favorite is the shoulder holster. These types of concealed holsters are great because they are classy, comfortable and very functional. There is no pressure of the gun on your hip. Most of the time they have to magazine holsters attached. They provide very easy draw and solid support. The drawbacks to this type of concealed holster is that it can be slow to draw from. Also you have to wear a coat or a blazer of some sort.

For those of you who enjoy carrying the .380 or other similair calibers theres the pocket holsters. These are great for very small very slim pistols that offer easy access and very comfortable options. The drawbacks are you have to be careful of what you put in your pocket for obvious reasons and it could be slow to draw in stressfull situations.

Some other styles are the small of the back holster and the ankle holster. These are styles that offer diversity in concealment but can be difficult to situate and clumsy to operate. However they are great backup solutions.

Make sure you consider what you’re looking for in concealed holsters. Things you should consider are pistol size, finish, safties, personal limitations and of course your concealed weapons certification. Meaning you should never conceal a weapon without the proper training and licensing.
